Ms. Tahani Saleh Al-Suqami published a book on the art of restoring documents and manuscripts, which included several sections and illustration images of the steps of restoration and sterilization of old documents and manuscripts. In the book's introduction, the author mentioned the role of King Fahad National Library in preserving Saudi and Islamic intellectual production and acquiring a huge collection of rare manuscripts and books. She then referred to the most important causes of deterioration of manuscripts and documents, including: humidity, rodent, acidic substances. She also discussed the different types of restoration and its steps, which start from the manual restoration process and end with the binding step.
